The Patriots are on top in my NFL Power Rankings
These rankings were made without records in mind. Instead, the teams are ranked from a "who would be who?" stand point. Meaning each team is ranked above who they could beat in a hypothetical seven game series. So, while some teams may have actually beaten a team ranked ahead of them - it is my belief that the higher ranked team would win 4 out of 7 times....
The Patriots are number one in the rankings and it's not just the Boston bias. When the Patriots are at their best they can beat anyone. They proved that Sunday night. The same goes for the Saints, who have surprisingly flown a bit under the radar. With Reggie Bush returning, expect New Orleans to finish strong and retake the NFC South.
I'm also still not sold on Atlanta. They've been much less successful against quality teams. They lost to Philadelphia, a Big Ben-less Pittsburgh and were given a break by Garrett Hartley in New Orleans. The Falcons were able to overcome the Ravens and Buccaneers but both games were at home and close. They have a clear home field advantage (5-0) but struggle on the road (2-2). Their easy schedule could very well put them in the playoffs but don't expect them to go far.
